On September 29, 2011, the world’s leading mobile phone provider, Nokia, officially announced the launch of its three latest Symbian-based smartphones in India. These new models are- Nokia 600, 700 and 701.
These three handsets have come with attractive price points and the inclusion of the latest version of Symbian OS, Symbian Belle. These smartphones were first showcased in Hong Kong last month. It seems that the company is very much interested to present them in more countries.
The Nokia 700 model has come with a 3.2-inch Clear Back Amoled display. It also has Gorilla Glass to protect the screen from scratches and damage. It includes other feathers including a pentaband radio with 3G connectivity, 1 GHz processor, Bluetooth, WiFi, digital compass, onboard GPS sensor, a 5-mp camera with LED flash.
One of the most important features is that it comes with a built in Near Field Communication (NFC) chip. It is said that the phone’s body will be completely made of recycled materials. It will be priced at Rs. 18,099.
Rumor has it that Nokia 701 is now already available to buy in India. It has a 3.5-inch In Plane Switching LCD display with Clear Back technology. The main attraction of this handset will be its graphics processor which is said to be four times the graphics memory in comparison to older Symbian handsets.
It will also feature a 1 GHz processor to give the best performance for Symbian Belle. Users will get a dual-camera in this handset. In its rear, it has an 8 mp camera with dual LED flash. Its front facing VGA camera supports video calling and it also has an in built Near Field Communications chip. It includes an 8GB memory which can be expanded via using micro SD memory card. It will be priced at Rs. 18,999.
There is hardly any information about Nokia 600. It is said that users will be given good quality sound system. It will be Nokia’s loudest at 106 phones. It will also come with a built-in FM radio antenna for listening to radio without headphones and FM transmitter that makes it possible to broadcast music from your phone to any FM radio. It will be priced at Rs. 12,999.
