Stuart Meaker has been included in England squad

The Surrey fast bowler, Stuart Meaker, has got an opportunity to make his international debut in the next month’s tour of India. He has been selected in England’s squad that will tour India to play a five-match ODI series and one off T20 match.

The absence of James Anderson has helped him to be included in the 15-man squad. James Anderson has been rested for the future tour game against Pakistan that will start in January.

Stuart Meaker has become the latest inclusion in England’s fast bowlers’ list who can bowl at above 90 mph. The other three quickest bowlers are Steven Finn, Jade Dernbach and Tim Bresnan.

The 6.1ft-tall Stuart Meaker is also the shortest fast bowler in this list, but he can make huge speed from his solid frame.

The 22-year-old bowler is the latest South African-born player in England squad. So, his inclusion will give birth to the debate about the number of South African-born players in England squad. Stuart Meaker is the sixth South Africa-born player in England squad.

However, Meaker has a good form in both First-class and List A cricket game. Let’s see if he can cement his place in the national squad with his speed and variation.
