England announces 30-man provisional squad for 2011 ICC World Cup

English cricket board has announced a provisional 30-man squad for the upcoming 2011 ICC World Cup. Three fast bowlers, Stuart Broad, Steven Finn and Chris Tremlett, have been included in this squad.

Except Steven Finn, other two players have the experience of playing in both ODI and Test formats of cricket game.

Steven Finn will make his ODI debut in this upcoming ICC World Cup as he is yet to play in a limited-overs match for England. This tall fast bowler has improved a lot and has been improving to cement his place in the national squad.

Both Steven Finn and Chris Tremlett continue to impress the selectors with their development after showing their strong performances domestic cricket and with the England team at international level.

Stuart Broad is now suffering from abdominal strain. His injury ruled him out of the Australian tour following the second Test. Though he is fighting against injury, he is hoping to recovery in time. He has the experience of playing world cup cricket.

Many uncapped players have been included in the provisional squad. Jade Dernbach, Chris Woakes, Darren Stevens, Jimmy Adams and James Hildreth are five uncapped players who are included in the initial list.

Test opener Alastair Cook and Matt Prior have been named in the preliminary squad while there is a possibility of a recall for all-rounder Samit Patel.

This 30-man preliminary squad will be reduced to 15 on January 19.
