Aamir Khan’s PK collects Rs 300 crore at the domestic box office

Aamir Khan-starrer PK has set a new record at the box office. This film which deals with the concept of Godmen, has created a history earning Rs 300 crore in the domestic market by Sunday (January 4, 2015). Now, it is very close to cross the Rs 600-crore mark worldwide. If it happens then it will be the first ever Bollywood film to have this feat.

He is the only actor who holds the rare feat of starting the Rs 100, 200 and 300 crore club. His movie Ghajini (2008) was the first movie that crossed Rs 100 crore. Then in 2009, he became the first Indian actor to reach the 200-crore club with his movie 3 Idiots.

Hope this movie will continue breaking records at the box office until the release of a new movie acted by a big star. 

Aamir Khan’s PK is now the highest grosser movie in Bollywood

Aamir Khan-starrer PK has overtaken Dhoom 3 to become the highest grosser movie in Bollywood. Since its release on December 19, this comedy-drama has so far collected at the box office Rs 285.37 crore, including Rs 6.85 crore on its third Friday.

This movie has done well at the overseas box office having generated Rs 134 crore from North America, the UK, Australia and Gulf countries. The producers are expecting that its collections at the overseas box office will increase.

PK is the second film where Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani have worked together after 3 Idiots and both of the films have joined the 200-crore club. Aamir Khan has become the only Indian actor to have three movies in the super exclusive club. 

Aamir Khan’s PK is the highest earning movie of all time in India

Aamir Khan with his latest flick ‘PK’ has set another record in the history of Indian cinema. His movie has become the highest grossing film of all time in India. This movie has so far earned more than Rs. 276 crore in just two weeks of its release. This thing has been made sure by trade analyst Komol Nahta. He posts in his Twitter, he said,

“PK becomes the highest grossing Hindi film ever with a net all-India total of Rs. 276.32 crore in just two weeks. O-U-T-S-T-A-N-D-I-N-G!”

Until PK sets the new record, Aamir Khan’s earlier movie Dhoom:3 was the highest grossing movie of all time with Rs. 265 crore. Shah Rukh Khan’s Chennai Express was in the second position with Rs. 258 crore in domestic market. 

Aamar Khan has become the only actor in Bollyood whose two movies (Dhoom:3 and PK) have earned more than Rs 250 crore in domestic market. None of the Bollyood superstars has this record.

Aamir and Anushka starrer PK has reached the 200-crore milestone in just nine days. With this movie, Aamir Khan has set a new record of becoming the actor to have a total of three films in the super exclusive club.
