Oppo’s ultra-thin
smartphone, Oppo R5, is now available to buy at major retail stores across
India with a price tag of Rs. 29,990.
The Oppo R5 comes
with a 5.2-inch full-HD AMOLED display that supports 1080 x 1920 pixels
resolution. It also offers a pixel density of 423ppi for better picture and
video quality. It is powered by 1.5 GHz Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615
(MSM8939) processor along with 2GB of RAM and Adreno 405.
This device has two
cameras. In its rear, it has a 13-megapixel camera with other features including
Sony IMX214 sensor, f/2.0 aperture, LED Flash, Schneider lens etc. It has a
5-megapixel front-facing camera for taking selfie and video calling.
The Oppo
R5 runs on Color OS 2.0 (based on Android 4.4 KitKats). The user can use
only a single Micro-SIM and it has 16GB internal memory which is
non-expandable. The main attraction of this smartphone is perhaps its 2000mAh
battery with VOOC charging technology. It is said that with the help of this
new technology, user can charge the battery from 0 to 75 percent in around 30
minutes.
It features Wi-Fi,
Bluetooth, GPRS/ EDGE, TD LTE, LTE FDD, and Micro-USB as data connectivity
options. It does not have 3.5mm audio jack onboard. So, in order to listen to
music or any kind of audio, customer will have to use the bundled Micro-USB as
a convertor of 3.5mmm audio jack adapter or the wireless O-Music accessory.
With a measure of 148.9x74.5x4.85mm
and 155 grams weight, it was the slimmest smartphone in the world until the
launch of Vivo X5Max,which is just 4.75mm thick.
