New Zealand wins the Test series 2-0

New Zealand defeated Sri Lanka by 193-run in the second Test at the Basin Reserve in Willington on Wednesday. With this victory, the Black Caps completed a series whitewash against Sri Lanka.
On day five, when Sri Lanka came to bat in their second innings, they were 45 for one and needed 390 runs to win and level the series. Chasing this target was not easy for the Lankan players. Before lunch, the touring team lost four wickets, including Kumar Sangakkara and captain Angelo Mathews who scored five and eight runs respectively.
Kaushal Silva played a passionate innings of 121-ball 50. It was his seventh half century. Lahiru Thirimanne remained not out on 62.
Offspinner Mark Craig took four wickets for 53 while Trent Boult Doug Bracewell took two wickets each. Tim Southee took only one wicket which helped his side to bowl out the opposite team for 196 runs.
New Zealand has remained unbeaten in their last test series. Their last defeat came in England in March 2003.
