Amazon will launch smartphone on June 18?

Amazon.com, one of the world’s largest online retailers, is perhaps going to introduce its first smartphone later this month. With the launch of its own smartphone, it will make its inclusion in the competitive mobile-device market, which is dominated by Apple and Samsung.
On Wednesday, Amazon posted on Twitter that it was going to hold an event in Seattle on June 18. This product unveiling event will be hosted by Chief Executive Officer Jeff Bezos. Customers, developers and press are sent invitation to attend at the event.
A photo of Amazon’s smartphone has been published on different websites in which we can see a black, thin device with Amazon’s name in silver engraved on it.
If it is believed to be true then it is going to be the third hardware devices besides e-book reader and tablet PC from Amazon. It will help the company to bolster its diversification into digital books, songs, and movies.
It is said that this device will come with 3-D viewing capabilities and it would run on Google’s Android operating system. A person familiar with this matter said that Foxconn International Holdings was working with Amazon on the device.

Let’s see if Amazon can make their place in the competitive smartphone market.
