Björn Kuipers is set to become fourth Dutchman to referee the Champions League final

Björn Kuipers has been chosen to referee the Champions League final match between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in Lisbon on May 24. He has been confirmed by the UEFA.
He is going to be the fourth Dutchman after Leo Horn (1957, 1962), Charles Corver (1978) and Dick Jol (2001) to take charge of the European Cup final.
The 41-year-old Dutchman will be assisted by fellow countrymen Sander van Roekel and Erwin Zeinstra while Cüneyt Çakır from Turkey will be the fourth official. Pol van Boekel and Richard Liesveld from Netherlands have been named two additional assistant referees.

The Champions League final between Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid will be his 69th match in UEFA competitions and his fifth in this season’s UEFA Champions League.
