Samsung takes Apple’s place in smartphone sales

It seems that Apple is losing its dominance in the smartphone market. This well-known brand is no longer the market leader. They are facing more challenges from other competitors. However, their only big rival is Samsung who is crushing Apple in smartphone sales.
According to the research report by IDC, the South Korean company, Samsung, is on top of the global market share with 33%. Their sales jumped from 60 million to 70.7 million phones this past quarter. On the other hand, Apple’s sales increased 6.6 percent year-over-year to 37.4 million over the same period.
Apple’s iPhone is a high-end device. It is expensive device and very few people can dare to buy this hand set. On the other hand, Samsung makes both cheaper and top-end devices.
Apple’s competition is not only with Samsung for customers, but also with other Android-phone manufacturers for the attention of app developers.
To increase their share in the smartphone market, Apple CEO should take some steps and try to take their place as market leader.
