Delhi Daredevils gets first victory against Mumbai Indians



Delhi Daredevils defeated Mumbai Indians by 9 wickets. By losing just one wicket, they reached the target of 162 runs with 18 balls remaining at hand. It was their first victory after losing six matches in a row. This victory was much needed for them because it has helped them to remain in the competition. However, it was Mumbai Indians’ second consecutive defeat after the game against Rajasthan.
Thanks to opening pair Virender Sehwag and Mahela Jayawardene, Delhi Daredevils got an easy victory. Their 151-run partnership ensured their victory. Sehwag made an unbeaten score of 95 runs from 57 balls. In his quick innings he hit 13 boundaries and two sixes. Jayawardene also made half-century. He scored 43-ball 59 runs with eight fours and one six. Sehwag finished the match with David Warner who was not out on 7.
Mumbai Indians bowler Lasith Malinga got the only wicket. He had good bowling economy. Except him, other bowlers could not perform well against the opponent team’s batsmen.
Coming to bat first, Mumbai Indians scored 161 runs with the loss of 4 wickets. Sachin Tendulkar played a passionate innings of 54 runs off 47 balls and Rohit Sharma scored 73 runs from 43 balls.
