Iqbal Qasim is hopeful about Saeed Ajmal’s performance in Sri Lanka

According to Iqbal Qasim, the Chief Selector of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Saeed Ajmal will play an important role in the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. He is also confident of Pakistan cricket team’s good performance against the host nation.
Ahead of the T20 series starting from 1st June 2012 at Hambantota, Pakistan’s T20 squad has arrived in Sri Lanka. They will play two T20 matches which will be followed by five ODIs and three Test matches.
Pakistan cricket team will be hoping to continue their dominance over Sri Lanka. They last played against the same opponent in a full-fledged series in UAE last year. They defeated the Islanders in all formats of cricket game. For his good performance against Sri Lanka and England in UAE, Ajmal was named Man of the Series.
Though this time Pakistan is a young-studded cricket team, they look much balanced compared to their opponent. Sri Lanka cricket team is struggling in the bowling department since the retirement of Muttiah Muralitharan and Chaminda Vaas.
No doubt, Ajmal as well as other spinners will get advantage in Sri Lanka where the pitches tend to favor the slow bowlers.
As the ICC World T20 2012 is going to be held in Sri Lanka in September, the T20 series is important for both the teams.
