Qatar will face Japan on a crucial quarter-final match

The match between Japan and Qatar is going to be the first match in the quarter-final round of the AFC Asian Cup 2011. Host Qatar will take on Japan on 21st January 2011. It will start at 16:25 local time (13:25 GMT). The match will be played at the Al-Gharafa Stadium in Doha.

Fans of both teams are now excited about the match. For both Japan and Qatar, it is a “do or die” match. So, they will try their best to win the match at any cost. Losing in the knock out stage means that defeated team will not get anymore chance to get into the semi-final round.

Obviously Japan is the hot favorite team in this match. Even, they are considered one of the strongest teams who can win the title this year. But it will not be a good thing if they take Qatar lightly or underestimate them.

Though Qatar started their Asian Cup campaign with a 2-0 defeat against Uzbekistan, they made their unthinkable return with two back-to-back victories over China PR and Kuwait by 2-0 and 3-0 respectively.

When Qatar lost their first game to Uzbekistan, many fans thought that the host team would see their early exit from the competition. However, at the end, they could be able to survive their position in the quarter-final round. Now, home fans will be eagerly waiting to see if their national football team can proceed further.

The 22-year-old Yusef Ahmed will be the main attraction of this game. Scoring two goals, he led his team to get a victory against strong look China.

Japan is also taking hard preparation ahead of their quarter-final match. They look much stronger than the host team. Even, their performance at the group round was much better compared to Qatar. So, they have the highest possibility to win the match on Friday. However, nothing can be said before as it is the game of football.

Fans should not miss the chance to see the match live on TV. ESPN STAR Sports has got the right to broadcast all Asian Cup 2011 matches. If you are living in a South Asian country then you can watch the match live on this TV channel.
