Fast bowler, Umesh Yadav, has been bought with an astounding price of $750,000 by Delhi Daredevils on the second day of the IPL players’ auction. He became the highest price bowler among the second group of fast bowlers.
The twenty-three-year-old Umesh Yadav already played three ODI matches for Indian cricket team. He made his debut in the limited format of cricket game against Zimbabwe on 28th May 2010. He is yet to make his Test and T20 debut.
However, he could not impress the selectors and home fans with his bowling skill. Playing 3 ODIs, he could manage to get only 1 wicket with an economy rate of 5.86. Though his form is not good in ODI format, he is struggling hard to cement his place in the national squad.
It seems that Delhi Daredevils is satisfied to get him in the club. It is the time to see if he can serve his club successfully.
Another big buy on the second day was Munaf Patel. He was bought by Mumbai Indians for $700,000, which is seven times more than is base price. His base price was $100,000.
Venugopal Rao, who was sold for the same price to Delhi Dardevils, is considered to be another shocking move.
Australian all-round, Daniel Christian, is still the big buy on day two after being bought by Deccan Chargers for $900,000 after starting with a base price of $55,000. He was sold for eighteen times his base price.
