Good time for Toyota

You know that Toyota is in a bitter rivalry with General Motors over the number one spot in world car market. The bad news for GM is that it is not making a lot of profit these days and it really needs to cut back on cost. It seems that the time has come for Toyota to drive faster and even be more ahead of general motors. November, 2007 has finished four days ago and now the number of and our sales are out. It seems that Japanese carmakers are now very lucky in the American market. In fact, while American companies are suffering from various problems, the major Japanese carmakers Honda, Toyota, and Nissan had seen some spectacular growth in the U.S. market.

This Japanese companies are optimistic about the U.S. market because perhaps that they are growing consistently for quite some time. You know that Toyota is the biggest names in a Japanese car industry and that’s why observers in America should keep a close eye on the programs of this company.

Why do think that Japanese companies are so successful these days? I think that they have understood to make the best out of Asia and America.

Toyota to become the Highest Selling Automaker in 2007

Toyota is going to become leading automakers in terms of its sales volumes this year. So far, Toyota sold more than 70,000 vehicles. However, another Japanese automaker, Mitsubishi has experienced an excellent year with more than 11,000 vehicles sold so far this year. Compared to its sales volume of 18 months ago, Mitsubishi has already made a strong come back this. Mitsubishi has sold more than 6000 vehicle in November. With its new Lancer sedan, Mitsubishi could survive in the market successfully. GM-Holden is expected to take the second place whereas Ford is going to secure the third place in terms of overall sales unit this year.

Herald Sun reported:
But given Mitsubishi's doom-and-gloom outlook just 18 months ago and the poorly selling 380 V6 garnering most of the negative media about the company, its 2007 sales result should please head office in Japan.
Last month Mitsubishi experienced a strong month, with more than 6000 vehicles sold.
Its overall tally for the year is up more than 11,000 vehicles, or more than 20 per cent, over the same period last year.

So, it seems that Toyota and Mitsubishi are making a strong ground for the Japanese brand cars world wide. Now, let us see if GM-Holden, Ford etc. can respond strongly to decrease the domination of Japanese car in the global auto market.

Toyota South Africa Launch its Dealership in Soweto, South Africa

Toyota Motor Corp has recently made a dealership deal with Maponya Group based in Soweto. South Africa’s auto market is increasing gradually. So, Toyota South Africa is now trying to hold a big part of the market share in South Africa. According to Toyota, Soweto should have seen motor dealership as the number of car is increasing here.

Allafrica reported:

"We have long sought a franchise outlet in this important and burgeoning market," Toyota South Africa chief executive Johan van Zyl said in a statement recently, reports Southafrica.info.

"Soweto has been a long standing 'open point' in our dealer network. As the vehicle market has expanded in recent years, the urgency to fill this point with a viable dealership has grown."

No doubt, with this dealership with a local company it would be much easier for Toyota to operate its business in this region. Now, let us how the other global automakers respond to Toyota in South African auto market.

Toyota to Introduce its Flagship Toyota Brand in South Korea

Having seen the increasing import car market of South Korea, Toyota Motor Corp is now planning to introduce its flagship brand cars in South Korea in 2009. South Korea’s total import car market has seen 32 percent of increase so far in 2007. Toyota has already entered in to the South Korea’s auto market with its Lexus brand in 2001. Japan's top automaker will likely concentrate on hybrid cars such as the Prius, to be sold initially through several dealerships to be run by group trading firm Toyota Tsusho Corp T> , the paper said.

Toyota has experienced 18 percent increase in its sales volume so far this year in South Korean auto market. Shares of Leading Automakers Fell in US Share Market

The renowned automakers have experienced decline in the US share market in November. Moreover, the percentage of sales volumes in November is not so attractive. General Motors has seen 11 percent drops in its November sales. Ford’s sales percentage remains same though the company experienced 12 percent feel in its sales so far this year. Toyota’s sales percentage in November was also same to the same moth last year.

Now, it is expected that US auto market will experience the worst sales in a decade in the first half of next year. That is why, leading automakers of US market have already reduced their expected production unit next year.

Associated Press reported:

Shares of automakers fell. GM dropped $1.22, or 4 percent, to $28.61 in trading Monday, and Ford shares declined 26 cents, or 3.5 percent, to $7.25. Toyota shares fell $1.53, or 1.4 percent, to $110.92. Shares of Nissan declined 23 cents, or 1 percent, to $22.67, and Honda shares dropped 92 cents, or 2.7 percent, to $33.49.
"Rising fuel prices and sliding home values delivered a one-two punch this month," Jim Lentz, president of Toyota's U.S. sales arm, said in a statement. "But the industry's not down for the count. Demand for fresh, more fuel-efficient products continues to show strength."

It seems that consumers are not interested to car market at this moment. However, reports have it that consumer are becoming much more interested to the fuel consuming vehicle due to the frequent price hike of oil this year. So, the automakers should focus on the current consumer demand and introduce fuel consuming vehicles. Thus, they can come out from the current situation.
