Toyota is included in the top three in US auto market

Written by: S.M.Mehdi Hassan

Few days ago, I wrote a post on American cars loosing their market to Asian cars. Well, last month Toyota has shaken the American automobile companies by moving into the top three in the US automobile market. In April, it replaced the Daimler Chrysler from the third position. Daimler Chrysler, a German auto company is one of the leading companies in the United States. Daimler Chrysler, Ford, and General Motor are considered as the top three companies in America. Now, that condition has changed. Last month Toyota observed a 4.5 percent raise in sales, while Daimler Chrysler fell 6.2 percent and General Motors, the top company f 10.7 percent on an unadjusted basis to 339,796, while Ford Motor, the No.1 automaker, experienced a 7 percent decline. I think this is a great achievement for an Asian Automobile company. America is one of the most developed countries and Toyota’s largest market. According to the CNN report, Toyota would not be able to hold this position although the year but Dave Lucas, Vice President, Autodata, an auto sales tracking firm thinks that this condition would not change because Toyota offers a great product line of fuel efficient cars like Camry and Prius, Hybrid car. The recent price hike in fuel has shift the attention of the American consumers to fuel efficient cars. Well I think Toyota deserves a great THUMBS UP!!!
