More news on China’s culture product export Fair

Written by: S.M.Mehdi Hassan
I was browsing Google for China news and I saw this after publishing my first post on Chinese cultural products import. According to this report, China has opened up 921 cultural projects amounted to 8.75 billion US dollar. I am quoting from the report published in China view
The projects cover seven fields, such as publishing, movie and TV, entertainment, industrial arts and cultural tourism, involving20 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions.
They are listed in a handbook for investing in the cultural sector, the first of its kind in China, which was issued by the Ministry of Culture at an ongoing international cultural expo held in Shenzhen, Guangdong Province.

The four day export exhibition (Wenbonhui) started on last Thursday. The main problem with such projects is that many of the projects do not attract any investment.

The cultural even which is according to an official was a 4 in event said, "an exhibition for cultural development ... a promotion event for creative products and projects, an international procurement event for Chinese cultural products and an exchange event for the application of new technologies in the cultural industry." It is supported by the government but run by the private sector.”

However, the funny thing is China is not targeting America, or European countries. The main guests were the culture ministers from Cuba, Serbia, Cambodia and several African states and the Guest of Honor was the chairman of Taiwan’s new party.

Different Chinese and foreign websites reported on this export exhibition. It seems that China like America is becoming interested to promote their product in other countries.
