Japan looking for stable supply of gas from Brunei

Brunei is a small but very rich country in Asia. The Sultan of Brunei often comes to media headlines for his lavish lifestyle. Do you know the secret behind his riches? Japan gets 10% of its liquefied natural gas (LNG) from Brunei and for Brunei it is 90% of its gas export. So, LNG of Brunei is equally important for both of these countries. Japan is eager to have stable supply of LNG from Brunei and Brunei's energy minister, Yahya bin Begawan has assured Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Toshihiro Nikai of stable supply of natural gas. Brunei is trying to develop new gas fields to meet the rising demand of LNG from Japan and Korea.

Brunei has been exporting LNG to Japan for more than 3 decades and now Korea is getting interested about importing more LNG from the country. The rise of oil in international market has made Brunei an even important source of energy to Japan and Korea.
So, we can expect of more headlines news of the riches of Brunei's Sultan in the coming years.
