Tsuneji Uchida becoming president and COO of Canon in Japan

Right now, Tsuneji Uchida is executive vice president of Canon Inc. one of the leading manufacturers of camera and precision equipment in the world. He is going to be promoted to President and COO of Canon on 23 May 2006. Fujio Mitarai is currently the Chairman, President and CEO of Canon and soon he is going to lead Japan Business Federation, or Keidanren, the most powerful business body in Japan. So, naturally, Mr. Mitarai will have less time to look after Canon and that is perhaps why Tsuneji Uchida is going to be promoted as President and COO.

Tsuneji Uchida ha shown great efficiency for Canon over the years. He has worked in the camera business of the company and has worked to make Canon as a successful name in the world of digital camera. These days, Canon doing great in digital camera business and posting healthy amount of earnings from quarter to quarter in the last few years.
