With
a price tag of Rs 6,999, the Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi launched its new
hand set Redmi 2 in the Indian market. Redmi 2 is the second generation budget
smartphone of Redmi 1S. It is expected to make a tough competition with Moto E
2nd Gen which also comes with a similar price tag.
Redmi
2 comes with a 4.7-inch display which supports 1280 x 720 pixel resolution. It
is also equipped with a fully laminated screen display which by removing gap between
glass and LCD keeps the pixels much closer to the surface.
The
dual 4G device is powered by 64-bit Quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 processor.
It includes other features are 1GB RAM, 8GB Flash which can be expanded to 32
GB and a 2200mAh battery. It has Cortex A53 CPU and Adreno 306 GPU which
provides 30 percent faster browsing speeds and an overall 50 percent higher CPU
performance compared to Redmi 1S.

2 is run on Android 4.4-based MIUI 6 operating system. It has two cameras-
in its rear, it has 8MP camera while it has 2MP front facing camera for video
conference.
This
new smartphone will be only available for purchase on Flipkart on March 24 with
registration. The white color variant of their first tablet PC will also be
available on Flipkar on March 24 without any registration.
