Arsenal
striker, Nicklas Bendtner, who sustained an ankle injury in his last match
against Cardiff City, will be on the sidelines for three weeks. Because of his injury,
the English Premier League (EPL) leader Arsenal will be short of fit strikes. The
25-year-old Denmark international joined his fellow Olivier Giroud who missed
the New Year’s Day match due to his ankle injury. However, the club manager, Arsene
Wenger, has refused to make a quick move to buy a new striker on January
transfer window.
Nicklas
Bendtner was forced to
leave the field after sustaining an injury in the process of scoring the
opening goal for his club in the 88th minute.
There
is no possibility for the tall striker to play on Saturday’s FA Cup third round
tie at home against Tottenham Hotspur while Giroud’s inclusion is under
question mark.
Arsenal
football club is also deprived of the service of Aaron Ramsey, Mesut Ozil,
Kieran Gibbs and Tomas Rosicky who are also suffering from injury.
Good
news is that Lukas Podolski has made his comeback after recovering from injury.
His inclusion will help strengthen the attacking position. However, they are
not enough as the club needs more specialists to play through the middle.
