English
Premier League club Manchester City has acquired 80% stake of the A-League club,
Melbourne Heart, while the 20% stake has been acquired by a group of
businessman related to National Rugby League side Melbourne Storm including Bart
Campbell. This acquisition was approved by Football Federation Australia (FFA)
on Thursday.
It
is believed that Manchester City’s involvement
will help Melbourne Heart to be one of the most successful football clubs in
Australia and throughout the region.
It
is expected that Manchester City and their partners will make no immediate
changes at the club at least for the rest of the season. This decision will
give the players, Coach John van t' Schip and existing management the
opportunity to prove their skill to be part of the new order.
