Southampton
striker, Dani Osvaldo, has been fined £40,000 along with a three match
suspension after being found guilty of violent conduct during the club’s 1-1
Premier League draw against Newcastle United on December 14.
The
27-year-old Italian player, who reacted angrily after Southampton midfielder
Morgan Schneiderlin being shown a yellow card for a late tackle on Newcastle
defender Massadio Haidara, was charged
by the Football Association (FA).
However,
Newcastle United coach, Andy Woodman, has also been fined £1,250 for his
improper conduct in the touchline brawl.
That
is why, Southampton striker will miss Saturday’s third round FA Cup clash against
Burnley at St Mary's Stadium, and Premier League games at home to West Brom and
away to Sunderland.
