Dhoom 3 makes a new first week collection record in box office



Aamir Khan-starrer Dhoom 3, which was one of the most anticipated and talked about films of 2013, has broken Bollywood box office record of highest first week collection ever for an Indian film worldwide. It is set to break every possible record set by Bollywood films till date.
Since making its release on 20 December, the third installment of Dhoom franchise has earned a total of $58.11 million (£18.74 million) in its first weekend. Earning $ $40.95 million (£11.13 million) in India alone, it has set a new record.
It is also doing well outside India. It has grossed $17.02 million in overseas markets in the first week since its release. According to production company Yash Raj Films, Dhoom 3, co-starring Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra, has made history in North America and Australia by earning $5.76 million and $1.396 million respectively.  
However, it has also grossed $2.49 million which is a highest holiday opening for a Bollywood film. In the Middle East and Gulf states, it earned , $4.29 in six days.
It is expected to earn more money in its second weekend. It will not be a surprising thing if it becomes the highest grossing Indian film ever. Katrina Kaif who was cast against Aamir Khan has added extra spice to the success of the film.
Dhoom 3 will be released in the Maldives, Rwanda, Egypt, Germany, Peru, Romania, Japan, Russia, the CIS and Turkey.
