It looks like that Samsung is very much serious about wearable devices as it is competing with other electronics makers to create a new industry of it as the market for top-end handsets nears saturation. It is thought to be Samsung’s most popular device besides smartphone, tablet PC and TV.
According to Chung Chang Won, an analyst at Nomura Holdings Inc. in Seoul, wearable devices has the highest potential to be one of the trends in the smartphone market. He could not confirm whether watches or glasses will set the trend.
The major problem of Galaxy Gear is its inflexible display. The company is still working on developing a bendable screen. It will be unveiled along with Galaxy Note 3, a combination of smartphone and tablet PC.
