Bangladesh’s 143-run victory level the series 1-1

A 143-run victory over Zimbabwe helped Bangladesh cricket team to level the two-match series 1-1. This victory also helped the touring team to take the revenge for their defeat in the first Test.
Scoring 291 runs in the second innings, Bangladesh set a target of 401 runs with their first innings lead of 109 runs. Coming to chase the target, Zimbabwe were bowled out for 257 just before tea on day five.
Hamilton Masakadza made some resistance with the bat but due to the lack of good partnership he could not lead his team to victory or at least draw to end the series 1-0. He was not out on 111 and became the second centurion in this series.
Ziaur Rahman led the Bangladesh bowling attack with four wickets for 63. He was supported by Shakib Al Hasan who took three wickets for 52. Other three wickets were taken by Robiul Islam, Sohag Gazi and Mohammad Ashraful.
Zimbabwe resumed their overnight score of 138 for 4. However, centurion Masakadza could not save his team from defeat due to some significant partnership.
It was Bangladesh’s fourth Test victory and their first victory after four years. This victory has come as a relief to the Bangladesh team. Hope they will continue their form in ODI series too.
Bangladesh captain Mushfiqur Rahim was announced player of the match for his 93-run innings of 153 balls while Robiul Islam was named player of the series for his superb bowling.
