Huma Qureshi is the
rising talent of Bollywood. Recently, she appeared on the cover of the popular
FHM magazine. The cover picture of Huma Qureshi wearing only a black coat
created a major buzz all over.
Huma Qureshi was
born in July 1986
to a Muslim family in Delhi. Her father is involved in restaurant business in
Delhi. Her younger brother Saqib Saleem is also an actor. He made his debut
last year in Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge.
Huma Qureshi
started in theatres in Delhi. She worked with notable theatre directors like Aamir
Raza Husain, Sohaila Kapur, Rahul Pulkeshi and NK Sharma. She then came to
Mumbai and appeared in TV commercials. She did commercials for top brands like Vita
Marie, Saffola Oil, Mederma Cream, Samsung Guru, Pears Soap and Nerolac. As a
model she had the opportunity to work with Bollywood superstars Shahrukh Khan
and Aamir Khan.
During the shooting
a commercial, famous director Anurag Kashyap noticed her and told her that she
will be the heroin in his next movie. Thus Huma Qureshi made her debut this
year in Gangs of Wasseypur. She played the role of a carefree Muslim Girl from
a small town. The movie was screened at Cannes Film Festival.
