EAMCET
counseling, a seat allotment process for the college students in the state of
Andhra Pradesh in India,
based on EAMCET results, began on Friday (31 August 2012). EAMCET stands for
Engineering, Agriculture and Medical Common Entrance Test and it is mandatory
for the students aspiring to take admission in any government/private colleges
in the state.
EAMCET
counseling is a web-based process by which students with ranking no. 1 to
75,000 are supposed to choose their desired courses and colleges. All they need
to do is to long onto the EAMCET website and choose from a list of courses and
from about 700 colleges. First 40,000 students based on the rankings have done
their counseling on Friday and Saturday, and students with ranking no. 40,001to
75,000 will do the same on Sunday and Monday.
On
the first day, EAMCET website slowed down noticeably as thousands of students
tried to access it at the same time, and this led to many students to wait for
as many as 4 hours to have their courses and colleges chosen.
