On 16 August 2012 (Thursday), Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has
announced their 15-member final squad for the coming T20 World Cup 2012. The
fourth edition of the ICC World Twenty20 will be held in Sri Lanka. It will kick off from 18th September
with the match between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe.
National team selectors
lead by Akram Khan have brought just one change in the squad that toured Europe last month. Selectors have recalled Farhad Reza to replace Nazmul
Hossain.
The Rajshahi pace bowling
all-rounder Farhad Reza has made his place in the squad due to Nazmul Hossain’s
bad performance in Europe tour. He played two matches and remained
wicketless.
According to Chief
selector Akram Khan, Farhad’s all-round abilities have helped him to be
selected for the respected tournament. He said, “We made one change to the
squad that toured Europe by bringing in Farhad in place of Nazmul. Farhad
gives us a batting option down the order apart along with his role as a
seamer.”
Farhad Reza’s all-rounder
role will be effective for the team. He can bat down the order and bowl as a
seamer.
Bangladesh Squad: Mushfiqur Rahim (Capt.), Shakib Al Hasan,
Mahmudullah, Tamim Iqbal, Junaid Siddique, Mohammad Ashraful, Jahurul Islam,
Mashrafe Mortaza, Nasir Hossain, Ziaur Rahman, Abdur Razzak, Shafiul Islam,
Elias Sunny, Farhad Reza, Abul Hasan.
