The player who comes after him as the second highest earner is Shahid Afridi who will get $50,000 for playing in Sri Lanka’s inaugural Twenty20 league.
Chris Gayle and Shahid Afridi have been highlighted more due to their huge payment. They will undoubtedly be the main attraction of this cricket league. They are among 56 foreign players listed to take part in the Sri Lanka Premier League (SLPL).
The other foreign players will get salaries from $10,000 to $35,000 depend on their performance in the 24-match event.
The interesting thing is that no player from India and England has been listed in the tournament which aims to imitate the success of the highly popular Indian Premier League (IPL).
Not only current players but also former and upcoming youngsters from Pakistan, Australia, Bangladesh, New Zealand, the West Indies and South Africa have been included in the line-up.
