Injury lefts James Hopes out of IPL 5

Australian all-rounder, James Hopes, cannot take part in the fifth edition of IPL because of his knee injury. His injury has come as a big blow for his new IPL franchise, Pune Warriors.

After Pune Warriors bought James Hopes from Delhi Daredevils last month, he became the only overseas player to have been signed this season apart from West Indies’ Marlon Samuels.

Because of the injury of Hopes Warriors will have to fill up two foreign players’ slots after IPL governing council allowed the franchise an extra foreign player to fill up the gape of injured Yuvraj Singh this season.

James Hopes guided Queensland to a title win in the Sheffield Shield with his all-round performance. With the bat he scored a half-century in the first innings and claimed five wickets in the second.

It is reported that Pune Warriors was in talks with the Australian captain Michael Clarke, who was reportedly coming as a possible replacement for Yuvraj Singh.

Pune Warriors is one of the two new franchises that was included in the fourth edition of IPL. Now, this team is hoping to increase the strength of the team and win the title for the first time.

Let’s see if they can find any foreign player to replace James Hopes successfully.
