India will miss Virender Sehwag in Asia Cup 2012

According to Indian captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, his side will miss the absence of hard-hitter opening batsman, Virender Sehwag, when they will take on Sri Lanka in their first game in the Asia Cup 2012.

Virender Sehwag has been rested due to his injury. In the recently concluded Australia tour, he performed very poorly with the bat. He caught media attention during India’s tour of Australia because of differences with the Indian captain.

It will be very hard to find anyone who can successfully replace Sehwag’s place. Either Ravindra Jadeja or Yusuf Pathan will be selected for the vacant post. It is also a big opportunity for both of them prove their worth and become a permanent member in the squad.

In the first game of the tournament, defending champion India will face Sri Lanka at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on Tuesday.

Indian cricket team is under pressure after losing two overseas series in England and Australia. So, they will try their best to start their campaign with a victory.
