Rafael Nadal has ensured his place in the final round of the Australian Open on 26th January (Thursday). He has beaten the veteran Swiss player Roger Federer in four sets in the semi-final match.
Nadal lost the first set in a tie break but made his strong come back to secure 6-7 (5-7), 6-2, 7-6 (7-5), 6-4 victory. It was played in three hours and 42 minutes. It was Nadal’s 18th overall victory against Federer from 27 matches, including 8-2 head-to-head record over his arch rival in Grand Slam encounters.
Fans enjoyed a closely contested game between these two arch-rivals. Roger Federer once again was defeated at the hand of Rafael Nadal. No doubt, it will add sour to his bitter pain. His hope of increasing the Grand Slam tally has ended with this defeat.
Final match will be played on Sunday where Rafael Nadal will face the winner of the match played between Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray.
