The much awaited football tournament, Copa America, started from 2nd July 2011. With 10 other competing nations, countries like Argentina and Brazil will compete against each other for the continental supremacy.
It is needless to say that both Argentina and Brazil will be the main attraction of this tournament. These two arch-rivals have been placed in the same group.
Most of the bookies have chosen Argentina as hot favorite to win the cup for the first time in 18 years. They are keen to break mighty Brazil’s strong hold.
For defending champion, Brazil, it is going to be a tough challenge to hold their trophy. They have very good experience against the host team. In the past five tournaments, they won four times. Among which, they beat their old foe in the final of the last two.
There is no doubt that Argentina will get home advantage for being the host. Their home crowd will inspire them to perform well. They will also be tagged as hot favorite for their talented squad.
Lionel Messi will certainly catch the spotlight. He is alone enough to destroy any defense. But he has often been criticized for his performance of his country.
Compared to Argentina, Brazil midfield will be looking less strong because some of the star players will be missing. However, Santos striker Neymar will be able to attract lots of attention from spectators and opponents.
