Gautam Gambhir wants to travel England

Indian opener, Gautam Gambhir, has informed about his fitness and expressed his desire to be a part of the squad for the forthcoming tour of England.

The left-hander could not travel to the West Indies because of his shoulder injury that he sustained during the World Cup final.

Gautam Gambhir told PTI, "I am back at my full fitness and feeling fresh both physically and mentally. The pain that I had in my shoulder is gone."

However, he has deteriorated his injury by taking part in the fourth season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) that held immediately after the World Cup. The Kolkata Knight Riders trainer, Andrew Leipus, advised him taking rest for four to six weeks.

Gambhir is now busy in proving his fitness. To prove his fitness, he spent a week at the National Cricket Academy in Bangalore where Physio, Nitin Patel, monitored him.

Gambhir has not played any test or ODI series in home and abroad since after the World Cup. If he is selected then it will be his first Test series for the country.

He has been working hard to make his place in the Indian squad. He is focusing on his technique to counter the swing and seam that Indian batsmen are likely to face during the series.
