Pakistan seal a 169-run victory to level the Test series

After securing the second test victory with 196 runs against West Indies at Warner Park, Basseterre, St Kitts, Pakistan has leveled the Test series 1-1. With this victory, the touring team, Pakistan, could successfully avoid the test defeat on Caribbean soil.

Pakistan is one of the two test-playing countries who are yet to get any Test series victory in the Caribbean ground. Another test-playing country is Sri Lanka.

Since 1958, Pakistan has so far visited West Indies six times and they were almost close to clinch test series victory, but each time they have failed to make their dream come true. This time, it was their seventh visit in West Indies.

Losing the first test match by 40 runs, Pakistan cricket team was under immense pressure. So, the second test match was a big challenge for Pakistan cricket team.

Depending on the centuries of both Taufeeq Umar and Misbah-ul-Haq in the second innings, Pakistan could through a big challenge to home side. Pakistan’s spinners also had great contribution in this victory.

With scoring 377 runs for the loss of 6 wickets, Pakistan could give West Indies 427-run to chase. In reply, West Indies got all out for 230 runs.

With the ball, Abdur Rehman and Saeed Ajmal led Pakistan cricket team to a victory. They took 4 and 3 wickets respectively.

Darren Bravo played a passionate innings. He scored 50 runs facing 144 balls, including two boundaries and two over boundaries. At the end, Darren Sammy tried to make some protest with his 51-ball 41 runs innings. It seems that West Indies batsmen faced hard task to play against slow ball.
