Eoin Morgan gets Test cap instead of Ravi Bopara

Eoin Morgan has become successful to make his place in the England squad for the first Test match against the touring country Sri Lanka that will take place at Cardiff.

Because of his impressive 193 runs innings for England Lions, Ravi Bopara failed to fill up the No. 6 spot vacated by the recently retired Paul Collingwood.

The inclusion of Eoin Morgan instead of Ravi Bopara surprised the cricket fans as Bopara had the most probability to be recalled and due to this reason he had been getting media publicity for the last few weeks.

The reason behind Bopara’s potential call was that he opted for Championship cricket instead of running after cash-rich tournament IPL. With two first-class centuries for Essex, he gained huge praise and it increased his possibility to get his 11th Test cap.

However, Eoin Morgan has impressed the selectors with his big innings that he played during a warm-up match against the Sri Lankans. So far he has played 6 Test matches and he was never the permanent member of the oldest format of cricket game. So, he will take this opportunity to permanent his place in the test squad. He is considered to be an important player in the ODI and Twenty20 format of cricket games.
