Maha Shivratri: Information about SMS and Wallpaper

Maha Shivratri or Maha Sivaratri is one of the few popular festivals among the Hindu religious people. This festival is observed every year on the 13^th/14^th moon day and night on the moon’s lessening phase in the month of February/March and it is celebrated worldwide. This year, it will be celebrated on March 3, 2011. On this day, people will be crowded in a nearer sea-beach.

According to Hindu calendar, people around the world celebrate this festival with great respect and it is celebrated in outstanding ways on the Krishna Paksha Trayodashi/Chaturdashi in the month of Phalguna. Not only it is celebrated every year but also a small group of people celebrate this festival every month on the Krishna Paksha 13th/14th moon day and this is known as Masik Shivratree.

People have different belief about this day. Some think that it is the wedding ceremony of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Other people believe that on this day Lord Shiva took position from the pot that arose during the Samudra Manthan to protect the world.

People do some holy and nonage traditions to get some blessing from God in the practice of Yoga and meditation.
