Australia will tour Bangladesh to play 3-match ODI series

Bangladesh will host a 3-match ODI series after the end of the ICC World Cup 2011. This ODI series will be played between host Bangladesh and tourist Australia. The three matches will be held on April 9, April 11 and April 13 respectively at the Shere Bangla Stadium

It is going to be the first Bangladesh tour for Australian cricket team since 2006. To play the ODI series, Australian cricket team will reach Bangladesh on April 4, two days after the World Cup final. Australia supposed to play two test matches but BCB confirmed that they will leave immediately after the three ODIs.

Australia will tour Bangladesh to follow the ICC Future Tours Programme. As per the ICC Future Tours Programme, test playing nations must visit each other at least once every six year. Australia toured Bangladesh once after they got test status. Now, it is going to be their second Bangladesh tour.

However, Australia has very good record playing against Bangladesh. In their last Bangladesh tour, they won both Test and ODI series. However, Bangladesh cricket team has improved a lot. So, we can see a tough game competition between these two teams.

Till now, Bangladesh could beat Australia just one time. This victory came in 2007 in Cardiff. Fans should expect that they will increase their winning streak against the strong team Australia.
