What will be the future IPL club for Sourav Ganguly?

Cricket fans are excitedly waiting to know the destiny of Sourav Ganguly. It is yet to know that what will be Sourav Ganguly’s future club as this former Kolkata Knight Riders captain remained unsold at the first day of the IPL 4 auction being held at ther ITC Royal Gardenia.

Not a single team was interested to bid for him. Even his home team, Kolkata Knight Riders, didn’t show their interest to buy him for the fourth edition of the Indian Premier League that will start from 8th April 2011.

It is very tragic to see him not to attract any bidders despite scoring highest run for KKR in the last years. He was the fourth highest run-getter in IPL 2010 with 493 runs in 14 matches at 37.92 with a strike rate of 117.66.

The absence of Sourav Ganguly in the KKR team will make bitter feeling among Kolkatan people. His fans should try to find out the reason of his not selecting any team of the ten franchises. Clubs are showing their lack of interest to bid for him may be for his long absence from international cricket or his age.

His base price in the bid was $ 200,000, but later he hiked his price to $ 400,000. It is heard that Pune Warriors, owned by Sahara group was interested to buy him at base price. May be, they lost their interest after Ganguly hiked his base price.

KKR owner, Shah Rukh Khan, is interested to build his team strong after bidding for Gautam Gambhir, Yusuf Pathan and Jacques Kallis.

The question is that if Shah Rukh Khan can be able to get spirited support from KKR’s home fans despite omitting Ganguly, who is affectionately called dada.

It is true that Shah Rukh Khan will be criticized for his couragious decision.
