The Government of Tamil Nadu established this exclusive university with the aim of promoting excellence in Teacher Education. It is obviously an exclusive university only for Teachers Education.

To promote excellence in teachers’ education, the government of Tamil Nadu enacted Act No.(33) of 2008 to provide establishment and incorporation of Teachers Education University in the State of Tamil Nadu.

Tamil Nadu, which is called the seat of Higher Education in India, offers a number of general and professional courses.
