Toshiba Portege R500-S5007V: The lightest laptop in the world

Toshiba Corporation (TYO:6502) is one of the leading laptop producers in the world. On June 16^th, the company announced a new version of its PortégéR500 ultraportable. It has added a 128 GB solid-state hard drive to it Portege laptop models. The announcement comes in the face of the company moving towards flash-based drives.

Toshiba’s main selling points are its storage capacity and environment friendly technology. The SSD and 7mm DVD SuperMulti drive makes the Portege R500-S5007V light weight. The laptop also uses motherboard produced using High Density Mounting Technology process. This mother board is one-third the weight of a conventional motherboard fitted into a 15.4 inches thick notebook. With this laptop, you do not have to worry about carrying extra devices and cables to attach with the laptop. Toshiba laptops are RoHS-compatible and use lesser amount of lead, mercury and other hazardous substances. So, if you are someone who cares about the environment then you should go for Toshiba.
