Nokia E66 and NokiaE71: Two new E-series phones for corporate users

Finnish mobile phone giant Nokia, has launched two new E-series phones. First launched in December 2007 and sold more than 10 million around the world, the E-series phones are email-optimized devices created to compete with products like RIM’s (TSE:RIM) BlackBerry phones. They are developed for corporate people.

Meet Nokia E66 and Nokia E71, the latest members of Nokia’s E-family. According Leif-Olof Wallin, analyst, Gartner, Inc. (NYSE:IT), said that Nokia E71 and Nokia E66 are the comeback phones of Nokia in the corporate arena. Nokia E51, the last E family phone, was launched nine months ago. After that, rivals like Research In Motion (RIM) and Sony Ericsson introduced new models. Still, Nokia is the leader when it comes to global cell-phone sales dominating 40% of the market share. Wallin is hopeful that that NokiaE71 will replace NokiaE61i.

Nokia will start supplying the models for GSM networks in July. The pre-subsidy and pre-local tax cost of the products will be $538 (in some websites it was $540/$541). Mobile mag reported that Nokia E66 will be priced under $500 and Nokia E71 will be priced more than $500.
