You know that Hyundai i10 is the first passenger car, from a foreign company, which is being manufactured in India and exported to some other markets in the world. The South Korean car maker, Hyundai, saw good success of i10 and now look to hit other car segment of Indian car market. Hyundai is planning to launch i20 in October, which is India’s festive season. Two other models: i30 and i40- also remain in the queue and are expected to hit the Indian car market in the next few years.

Economictimes reported:

HMI managing director and CEO HS Lheem told ET : “We plan to bring the entire portfolio of our new i-series cars to India. As a full range car company, the premium i30 and i40 cars have a significant potential in India. These new generation cars are ideal for the fast growing Indian market. Besides, we will also strengthen the i10 portfolio with a new engine and an automatic transmission in the next few months.”

Reports have it that Hyundai is also planning to upgrade its i10 model replacing its current 1.1 litre 67 horsepower intelligent Repressive Drive Engine (iRDE) with 1.2 litre 80 horsepower Kappa series engine. Hyundai is also studying the market potential of C and D segment car. Considering the price hike in gasoline in the global market, Hyundai is also focusing on the cars run in CNG and planning to launch Santro hatchback and Accent sedan on LPG fuel in future.

I have always known and like Hyundai's for their commercial vehicles like the Starex and a few more vans, I don't know if the car line of the manufacturer is selling much but I do hope that there would be some future version of hybrid vans and suv from the maker.
