Canon Pixma iP2600 Printer Preview

Canon Inc. (TYO:7751) has launched a cheap printer with excellent quality. Though the printing speed of Canon Pixma iP2600 is not that much impressive, it is worth a printer with printing quality and an eye catching price tag. The printer can print texts on a paper at a printing speed of 8.5 papers/ minute. No doubt, in terms of printing speed it is behind its competitors like Epson Stylus C120 and the Lexmark Z2420 Wireless. However, it can provide excellent quality at its price range.

PC World reported:

How mediocre was its output speed? In our tests, the Pixma iP2600 printed text on plain paper at a rate of 8.5 pages per minute--slower than both the Epson Stylus C120 and the Lexmark Z2420 Wireless. Its print speeds for color graphics and photos ranged from average to worse, but the actual printouts were worth the wait. Text samples looked deep-black and pretty crisp. Color images printed on plain paper appeared vivid, maybe even a bit overdone. On Canon's own photo paper, the same images improved markedly and were smooth, detailed, and natural.

Canon Pixma iP2600 offers an input area where you can put 150 papers and there is an output tray which can carry 150 papers. Two sided prints are also possible with Canon Pixma iP2600 printers. It is easy to change ink cartridges in this printer.

This inkjet printer also offers some more features. The printer comes with symbolic labels and integrated LEDs that are used to understand the status of the printer. However, to be honest, its control panel is not that much easier to understand the functioning. Some useful software is provided with this printer and a centralized interface is also given there for user guide. Canon Pixma iP2600 can not do many other additional things that other high priced printers can do besides printing on plain and special papers. However, considering the price tag it has come up with seems to be very competitive and attractive for the users.
