Autoliv Received Toyota Award

Toyota has awarded Autoliv for the third successive year for its technological contribution. This year, Autoliv received the award because of its contribution to the development of inflatable side-impact curtain for Toyota Motor Corp.’s new Sequoia. The same company was awarded with the Toyota Value Improvement Award and the Technology award in 2006 and 2007 respectively.

The award has given at Toyota’s Annual Global Supplier Convention on 11 March in Nagoya, Japan. Autoliv introduced the inflatable curtain airbags for the first time in the world in 1998. The company produced 22 million inflatable curtain airbags for the cars of different models in 2007. From fall 2013, all the new cars must have side curtain airbags in 2013. This shows that Autoliv will receive a huge boost from that year. It is really praiseworthy that the company is contributing largely to the car industry and has already made an impact on it.
