Sanjay Dutt withdraws his name from Shuddhi

Karan Johar’s Shuddhi has been in news since its declaration. The latest news is that Sanjay Dutt has withdrawn his name from the movie citing that he does not want to act in a negative role immediately after coming out of jail. He was reported to play the role of antagonist in Shuddhi.
The news of Sanjay’s drop of the film has come days after Salman Khan walked out of the film. However, Karan Johar has denied of offering this role to Sanjay. According to a source close to the actor, he wants to start with director Umesh Shukla’s “OMG-Oh My God!” movie in which he will play a hero.
It has been confirmed by Umesh that he had an initial meeting with Sanjay and the actor liked the story. After the actor will come out of jail, he will be shown the first draft of the screenplay.
He was sentenced to 42-month prison in May 2013 due to possessing illegal weapons during the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts.

Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt have been cast for the lead roles.
