Bangladesh
Cricket Board (BCB) has given Top of Mind the team sponsorship rights for
Bangladesh’s home series against Pakistan that is scheduled to kick off this
month. In order to make the new deal, the board had cut short their previous
contract with Aamby Valley, an affiliate of Sahara India Parivar, 15 months
before it was scheduled to end.
A
number of companies had submitted their bids, but there was tough competition
between Top of Mind and Grameenphone as both of them were highest bidders. That
is why, they were asked by the BCB to bid again and Top of Mind won the
sponsorship rights. However, the BCB president Nazmul Hassan did not
disclose the amount.
Before
Sahara, Grameenphone was the team sponsor for the eight years. Sahara had a
four-year deal with the board which was worth USD$ 14 million.
