On April 20 (Monday), Sony has unveiled its latest flagship smartphone, Xperia Z4. However, the company is yet to announce the international launch date or an accompanying ‘Compact’ version of this device.
Like its predecessor Z3, Xperia Z4 has 5.2-inch screen. It comes with Qualcomm MSM8994 Snapdragon 810 processor which clocks a more modest 2GHz, but unlike Z3, it has eight-core and 64-bit. It has 20.7-megapixels rear facing camera. The 5.1-megapixel front-facing camera has come with wide-angel lens. The Xperia Z4 is run on Android 5.0 Lollipop. It has 3GB of RAM.
Sony has got popularity for making devices that can resist both water and dust. It has made them different from other companies like Apple and Samsung.
It was thought that they will take an exit from the smartphone market. However, their position in the market is not good. They will have to increase the sale of their mobile devices in order to survive in the competitive market.
