Mitchell Starc dominates the ICC Player Rankings for ODI Bowlers

Australia’s left-arm fast bowler, Mitchell Starc, has gained the top position of the Reliance ICC Player Rankings for ODI Bowlers because of his good performance in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 that also earned him the player of the tournament award.
The 25-year-old player finished the tournament with 22 wickets, including two for 20 in 8 overs in the final against New Zealand. With this performance, he has claimed the number one position for the first time in his career. He along with New Zealand’s Trent Boult became the leading wicket taker.
Before the start of the tournament, Starc was in the seventh position. However, he gained 147 rating points during the course of the tournament. He achieved the position with his career best 783 rating points.
He is followed by South Africa’s wrist spinner Imran Tahir who has finished the tournament in a career-best second position. He claimed 15 wickets from 8 matches which helped him to jump nine places from 11th position.

The excellent performance in the World Cup has helped Trent Boult to jump nine places to claim his career-high sixth position which he shares along with Australia’s Mitchell Johnson who has moved up by two places.
