India beats UAE by 9 wickets

Defending champions India won their third World Cup match against the United Arab Emirates by nine wickets with 31.1 overs remaining at hand in a Pool B clash in Perth on Saturday.
After coming to chase 103, India reached the target in 18.5 overs losing just one wicket. Scoring 57 runs from 55 balls, Rohit Sharma picked up his 24th ODI fifty. In his innings, he hit 10 fours and one six. Virat Kohli scored a passionate innings of 41-ball 33. They made an unbroken 75-run partnership in the second wicket stand and led India to an easy victory.
Winning the toss, UAE decided to bat first. They were bowled out for 102 in 31.3 overs. It was the lowest team total in this year’s World Cup tournament. Shaiman Anwar was the highest run scorer of his team. He scored 35 runs from 49 balls. He along with Manjula Guruge, who played as the last batsman, added 31 runs for the last wicket and helped UAE past the 100-run mark.

Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin claimed his career-best figures of 4 for 25. Both left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja and fast bowler Umesh Yadav took two wickets apiece. Other two wickets were shared by Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Mohit Sharma.
